Day 1

The AAA Four Diamond award-winning Omni Bedford Springs Resort is a National Historic Landmark that couples charm and luxury with first-class services and amenities. For more than 200 years, the eight mineral springs located on the resort’s property served as an important gathering place. The resort is the site of many significant moments in American history, hosting a long list of celebrities, including 13 U.S. presidents. Located in the Allegheny Mountains, it is the ideal fall foliage retreat.

Arrive in the afternoon and enjoy a welcome reception before going to your room to relax and refresh.

Dinner tonight is in the delightful Eisenhower room.

Day 2

After a scrumptious breakfast, gather for some sightseeing.

It’s Fall Foliage time, so what better way to enjoy the Allegheny Mountains than a train trip? The Western Maryland Scenic Railway is nearby and will wind through the Allegheny Mountains from Cumberland, MD, to Frostburg, MD.  You will enjoy one hour of beauty in each direction.

Once in Frostburg, the trolley to Main Street is waiting for you.  You have an hour to enjoy Frostburg and a lunch on your own.  After, enjoy the winding, colorful trip back to Cumberland.

Back at the resort, enjoy the fabulous spa, golf, and relax amidst the beautiful surroundings.

Tonight, you will travel to the historic town of Bedford Springs for a dinner at Horn O Plenty, a farm-to-table restaurant using locally sourced and organically grown meat, dairy, and produce. The menu reflects the seasons of the local harvests.

Day 3

After a scrumptious breakfast, gather for some sightseeing.

The Flight 93 National Memorial is located at the site of the crash of United Airlines Flight 93 on 9/11.  This very moving memorial was made to honor the passengers and crew of Flight 93, who stopped the terrorists from reaching their target by fighting the hijackers. The monument has a beautiful 93-foot-tall tower with wind chimes for each of the 40 victims.

Back in Bedford Springs, you will visit Old Bedford Village to discover America’s history. This living history village brings the past into the present with military and civilian re-enactments, colonial crafts, and exhibits.

Historic Downtown Bedford traces its roots to the French Indian War, yet boasts world-class dining and shopping.  It’s a lovely village to stroll and enjoy lunch on your own.

Back at the resort, you have the option to enjoy a historical tour of this famed resort. With 200 years of famous and infamous guests, there are many wonderful stories. Or take in the spa, investigate other activities, or relax and enjoy the scenery.

After a wonderful dinner tonight, put your thinking caps on. You are about to become a leading suspect in a homicide investigation. Ingenious detective work will be needed to solve this unusual, exhilarating, and spine-tingling experience.

Day 4

After a scrumptious breakfast, relax before your departure, then pick up your boxed lunches as you depart for home.
